What Has Your Focus and Concentration?
The past. It's what has already happened… you have no control over it. You can't change the past. If you spend time thinking about the past, it has your focus and concentration.
The future. Thinking and hoping about what may happen, or what you want to happen, gives the future your focus and concentration.
What does this steal from you? It steals the opportunity to be present, in the here and now. The only thing you can control is what you do and how you feel now. By giving your focus to living in the moment, in THIS moment, you have choices… and the opportunity to be amazed at what you can accomplish!

This is a great video, Pat and Lorna! Puts our business goals all into perspective, really. I had not seen this video before, nor have I seen the movie, but it makes sense…we can defeat ourselves by our past or defeat ourselves before we even start.
Thanks for the post!

T.K.
It’s the truth… if we are focusing on something other than the here and now, it is way too easy to lose ourselves in guilt and wishing rather than what it is we really want to accomplish.
Thanks,

Inspiring post Pat & Lorna 🙂
This message is so very important because it is our actions in the present
that determine whether or not we accomplish our future goals.

Hi Pat and Lorna,
Thanks for sharing this insightful post and video. That video really packed a punch and was very powerful.
Too many people get lost in what happened in the past. This can be good to make sure you don’t repeat past mistakes, but you don’t want to be trapped in the past.
Dreaming and looking forward to the future and having visions of success is very beneficial, but we don’t want to dwell on that too much or it will distract us and make us lose focus on the DAILY habits, activities and actions that are needed to achieve our future goals.
To your continued Coolness,
Marc

Marc,
Thanks so much for your comment, which by the way is almost a blog post in itself. It’s true… it’s our daily habits (not just tasks) that take us to where we want to be and what we want to achieve. By being present to that, we have a much better chance of getting there.

Hi Pat & Lorna,
Very timely message. Sometimes I wonder if I’ll ever learn the lesson therein. I guess that’s why they call it a “journey” and a “process.”
Enjoy the journey, each present moment at a time…

Willena,
Oh… it would be perfect if we could all live in the present… in the moment.
Enjoy the journey!

“Take out the trash” which means to move on from the past and think about the future. In my life, past is my guide and leads me to my future. It includes my mistakes and frustrations in life which served as my tools in walking my journey to the future.
