Preparation… Then Bam! It All Breaks Loose… Are You Ready?
Wow… we're right in the middle of dance competition season. Our daughter is involved in four different types of dance, so it seems we are constantly running back and forth to some venue to watch her compete.
It seems like eons have passed since September when she first began this season of dance. That means for seven months she has been learning and training for these three short weeks of competition.
The amazing thing is how these dances develop over those few months. First they need to learn and master the new steps and movements and then they learn and practice the actual dance. Plus… the costumes and make-up need to be chosen and purchased to put the finishing touches together.
All that preparation… the calm before the storm… laying the foundation for what's to come…
So hang on… 'cause that is exactly what happens in your business. You start by laying the foundations… creating your blog, setting up your Facebook profile and fan page, joining Twitter and all the other relevant social media sites that are going to help you on your way to success.
Then you start creating and growing your list, spreading your message, giving away valuable bonuses, posting great content, commenting, tweeting, re-tweeting, and creating products of value for your prospects and customers.
Then one day it hits you… I am so busy… my business is going strong, I've gained and presented an amazing amount of knowledge and I've built so many valuable relationships along the way…
If you haven't prepared for this, you could lose a lot of what you've gained in the growth of your business. Some valuable information will be sitting somewhere… lost in the clutter… not helping you or your customers. Important relationships will fall by the way-side, ones that could have resulted in a mutually beneficial outcome.
To lay that foundation you'll need to do some preparation and organization.
We've prepared for our business growth with a tool called PersonalBrain (or what we call “The Brain”).
Take a walk through the dynamic map at the bottom of this post to get an idea of how this tool enables us to effectively organize and manage the information, contacts and relationships we've gathered and developed in our business.
Are you prepared? Let us know how you've set up your business foundation. We look forward to your comments.

Great post! Isn’t amazing how many of the experiences we have in life carry over into our businesses?

Alan,
Yes, life has a way of carrying lessons and experiences between the personal side and the business side.
We can learn so much from both.
Thank you!

Guys,
This as a great post. Having a foundation of organization is so very crucial, because if you are not organized things, people, and your business will start to suffer.

Lori,
Couldn’t agree with you more. We’ve been on the “other side”… unorganized and kind of lost, and things do tend to fall apart.
This tool saves us on a daily basis… couldn’t live without it.
Thanks,

I spend hours and hours of time on research and collecting data, from research studies, contact names, websites, my writing, ebooks, and business goals. The Brain looks like it’s going to be a lifesaver in keeping all my material in one place and accessible so I can continue to grow in my business. I appreciate your tip, and I’ve shared it on Twitter.
