Day 7: Framework: Step 6: Marketing That Sells
Step 6: Marketing That Sells
Many entrepreneurs look at marketing like a challenge. They’re lost as to where to start, or what's going to work best for their business… or they just put up a bunch of random ads. But there are some proven strategies that can really help get results… and customers.
Our Marketing That Sells series is all about creating and implementing a plan that's based on a solid understanding of your market and what they want. Because when you know exactly who your customers are and what they're looking for, you can create ads and other marketing materials that really speak to them.
The benefit of this approach is that you'll be able to attract more of the right customers to your business, and increase your sales as a result. You'll also be able to create a customer journey that's tailored to their needs, which will make them more likely to stick around and become loyal fans of your brand.
There are a lot of business owners out there that don't take this kind of strategic approach to marketing. They might throw up some ads here and there, or post on social media every once in a while, but they don't really have a plan for how all those pieces fit together. And unfortunately, that usually means they're not getting the results they want.
Not having and implementing a solid marketing plan can end in a failed business… spending a lot of money on ads or other marketing efforts that don't really pay off. These random “shots in the dark” end up attracting the wrong kinds of customers, who aren't really a good fit for the business. It isn’t the way to build the kind of loyal fan base that can help grow a business over time.
To get the customers your business needs so you can leave the rat race, here’s the marketing steps to follow:
- Start by really understanding your market and their needs
- Research what they're looking for, and what their pain points are
- Use that to create a marketing plan that takes into account all the different pieces of your customer’s journey, and…
- Use proven marketing formulas to create ads and other marketing materials that really speak to your audience and move them towards becoming loyal customers
It all comes together when you create a plan that's based on a solid understanding of your market, and then taking action and executing that plan. In our Marketing That Sells series, we go through all the simple, principle-based parts for doing just that.
