The Power of a Tribe… And So Many Connections

Tribe. The word brings to mind thoughts of a group of people working together for a common goal.

In the online world it is no different. The "goal" or purpose of a syndication tribe is to get the great content and messages of the tribe members spread a lot farther than if they did it on their own.

By having your tribe members comment on your blog, and letting their followers, friends and fans know about your content, the reach of your content grows exponentially. This is a good thing… because people want to associate with people they know, like and trust; and their purchases are based on the same criteria.

Knowing how powerful this is and because we want to help and support others, we joined the Tribe Syndication Association.

Of course, the result of the added exposure from the tribe is a lot more connections and new-found relationships. With all these new connections to people comes the challenge of how to manage them. Basically, how to ensure you keep these relationships viable… that you're connecting with these people on a regular basis, and how and where to connect with them.

Yes, you can bookmark their blog or any of their other social sites, you can put them into a contact organizational tool such as Outlook, or you could enter all their information into a spreadsheet. But keeping track of each of their websites, various social media sites and other modes of contact are difficult and not very easy to retrieve in any of these organizational tools.

But there is a way to store and organize all these contacts and all their relevant information that works the way you think, is visual, and has search features that make information retrieval a piece of cake.

That tool is PersonalBrain (or what we call "The Brain"). Basically, it is a visual information and relationship database.

We've developed a Dynamic Knowledge Information Map using PersonalBrain for the Tribe Syndication Association, which you can see on this post. In it we've included all the members in the current syndication group, along with their websites and social media sites we know about.

Take a walk through this dynamic map and get an idea of how this tool enables us to effectively organize and manage our contacts and relationships.

  1. Thanks for introducing me to the tribe concept. I look forward to working more with you and learning how to become part of a dynamic tribe. I can see the power of the concept! The Brain certainly makes the process that much easier because it is complex with so many people and sites to track.

    Thanks for leading the way!

    Jacqueline,

The tribe concept is really powerful. The increased reach of our message and the support we get from our tribe members is so cool.

We must admit, we'd be so lost without our Brain… keeping up to it all would be a nightmare.

Thanks for your comment and your support.

What a great way to explain and visualize the TSA tribe. I can speak from experience that a tribe is making a huge difference in the amount of traffic to your site. But it is also a great way to build new relationships with like minded people. Glad you joint. You are proving your value from the start! Very impressive.

    Hey Pat & Lorna.

Great to meet you. Welcome to the TSA.
Love this cool brain map technology. I wish that my brain could be so organized. I will definitely look into how I could us it to manage my growing network of people more effectively.

I agree that the true purpose of a tribe is to get to know other like-minded people. That has been the best part so far for me.

Thanks for sharing this with us.

    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,

We do love our "Brain"… it is so much a part of the way we do things and how we stay connected that we have it open almost all the time we are in front of the computer.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for the comment.

I've noticed that all we're really doing – in its simplest description – is accomplishing great things with a fraction of the effort.

Good ol' Leverage. People duplicating a simple action of sharing wisdom with others…. are going to reap the benefits of living by the get by giving philosophy!

    Paul,

We appreciate your perspective on what syndication really is at the basic level.
Leverage, karma, giving first… are all great ways to describe syndication.

Thank you for the comment and the fresh perspective.

I love seeing web sites that understand the value of providing a high quality resource for free of charge. It?s the old what goes close to comes around routine. Did you acquired plenty of links and I see plenty of trackbacks?
