Hi Pat, Hi Lorna. What you wrote there is diamond dust. It took me 3 businesses before I found my “passion”. I was always passionate about what I did, but at the end of the day I was always in it for the ‘money’. There is a world of difference between being passionate about what you do and actually ‘following your passion’. I just hope that someone else reading this can pick that up and benefit.
    Thanks for sharing 🙂

      Mandy,

Thanks so much for sharing. It doesn’t seem like it’s a big difference between passionate about what you’re doing and following your passion, but there is. So glad you pointed that out… it gives us all something to reflect on.

      Thanks,
      ~ Pat and Lorna

I could not agree more. Especially in internet marketing a lot of people seem to be more motivated by money than anything else. Even though the money is great, if you don’t have a passion for what you do, the money is not going to make up for it. Start with your passion. Nine out of ten times that is the area where you excel the most any way.

      Karin,

We too believe that if you follow your passion, you will be so attached and involved in your business that it won’t seem like work… and the money will follow.

      Thanks!

I totally agree. I could never be in my business if I didn’t have passion for what I am doing. I think that passion is what motivates us to help others. If you are just in it for the money, there is no joy in helping people.

    Hi Pat and Lorna,
You are so right! Passion is what drives people to do what it takes to breakthrough!
You will find that my team is called “follow your heart” and I write about how to connect with your heart and passion for life when deciding what to do as a business. this is particularly true in network marketing and different types of products and services attract different types of people. A leader knows how to qualify people into the type of business that is right for them. my focus is helping people with their health coming from a professional health background. Earning money is necessary and great, but ultimately this is not the true Why for people. Thanks for sharing this important topic.

    Blessings

    Hi Pat & Lorna,
You nailed it. If you are not able to give of your talents through your business then despite how much money you make with your business, you will not be truly happy. You have to find a way to be fulfilled in all areas of your life to achieve peace of mind which results in real happiness.

Yes, passion is the unique quality that is necessary to give you the energy and drive that you need so you can help others in the way that is unique to you. The passion that the two of you have for helping others shines through your blog and all the valuable content you share.

Thanks for emphasizing the real reason we should be in business for – to help others using our unique talents and you guys do a great job of exactly that!

      Dawn (and Dave),

Thank you so much for the very kind words. We do love what we do and sharing what we know with the world.

We also believe that everyone has a unique talent and passion, and have something to contribute to the lives of others… and it’s so cool when that comes through in what they are doing.

      Thanks!

Excellent post Pat & Lorna … I LOVE this!! It is so true … putting the focus on what it is that you can do to improve the lives of others is a sure path to success. It’s not about us, it’s about how we can serve others. “Find a way to serve the many and you will be rewarded.” 🙂

Service with a smile brings joy to the giver and the receiver. Somewhere inside there always seems to be something pulling us each toward the best within us. Then at some point it seems that the good within us moves us to give of ourselves.

Thank you for your excellence and the gifts you give us all.

      Jim,

Definitely… if we all remember to find the joy in what we do, because it is our passion, then we will be so much more motivated to help others and give of ourselves.

Thank you so much for the kind words… and for all you do!

Every newbie to the industry needs to read this post. Success will come when your passion and purpose matches your commitment and discipline. It doesn’t matter what company or product or service someone markets, if the passion and purpose aren’t clear – it won’t happen.

Luv this reminder to focus on why we’re doing what we’re doing. Especially when we all have so much on our plates!

    Thanks!

    Hi Pat and Lorna,
I have often followed my passion. I loved tennis and sports so I went back to school to become a Professor of Health and Physical Education. i wrote a book about what is important to me. And I work with individuals and couples to help them heal their lives and their relationships.

Now, finally, I am beginning to join my passion with my business. I no longer work for an employer. And I love the online world. But I have not been as focused on my true passion until a recent coaching session helped me to hone in on it. Now I know, I am a spiritual relationship expert helping men and women heal through love.

    Warmly,
    Erica

    Hey Pat and Lorna,

Yet another great post…thanks for sharing your wisdom.

I think it really boils down to my all-time favorite quote by the legendary Zig Ziglar…

“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

I feel that to truly attract the prosperity and abundance that we all want in our lives…it has to start with paying it forward and sharing our unique gift with others.

Whether people believe it or not, they DO have a talent or ability that will enrich the lives of someone.
It may not be to the same extent as some others, but we all have something to offer.

It is wonderful to be passionate about what you do, but to have true passion for others and helping others will lead to your greatest success.

    To your massive success,
    Marc

    Hey Pat & Lorna,

Great message. When you do what you were born to do, your purpose, your passion, your mission, your dreams… you can move into a state of flow where your life is amazing. The work starts from the inside and the gifts and blessings you can offer and give to the world shine out in all the people around you.

Thanks for reminding us of what we should continue to strive for in our life and business.

    Make it a great day!
    God Bless,
    The GREAT Edward!

      Edward,

Yes, living our dreams through our purpose and passion is the only way to go. Achieving our goals and dreams outside of our passions can leave us empty… and quite often we cannot achieve our dreams without living it through our passion.

      Thanks,

Great post, Pat and Lorna! I think that it is vital to remember the importance of why we want to do the business. As Napoleon Hill reminds us, every business adventure should be done in a spirit of justice for all involved. If we don’t have that attitude of helping people, we will just chase dollar signs, and enough will never be enough.

    Hi Pat & Lorna,

Passion is the driving force behind most success in my opinion.
I find that when I am in a business for the right reasons it helps me make the tough decisions and not take the bait or the easy way out. And if we do things with passion and for the right reasons… the money will follow.

    Thanks for sharing,

Hey there my cool friends; you absolutely hit it out of the park yet again Pat and Lorna, thanks so much for sharing. I agree 100%! Helping people is so important in business and in life, and I see so often that being completely missed when a person sees the opportunity to make money.

I love the great quote of Mr. Zig Ziglar ‘You can have everything you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want’

Thanks again my friends for being so cool and sharing such great content.

Thanks, Pat and Lorna! This helps to put things into perspective for us newbies, as well. We DO have gifts as a means to help others and that’s a pretty big responsibility to know how to use them appropriately, and not only for our gain.

Agree 100% that if we follow our passion, we will never “work” a day in our lives. One thing that always bothers me when I attend/listen to MLM-type presentations is that too many of them are All About The Money. Turns me off!

    Pat & Lorna,
I have been in multiple businesses. I found after I got into them that I was in it for the money. I really struggled to find what I could do to really help people.
I am always someone who friends and family call to help them out. So I finally found a business that I am passionate about and helping people comes naturally. I wished I would have known this years ago.

    Thanks for all your tips,

It’s amazing how much better our business flows and how much more enjoyment we get out of it when we are in it to help and serve others rather than just to make some money.
